OpenGL reading the warped texture

I must correct the barrel distortion on the images.But I want to do it gpu based.
Because of that I am calculating a mesh and then I will texture mapping to mesh with my distorted image.I must read the warped(corrected) image back to CPU and then I must write the new image to the memory.How can I do it using OpenGL?How can I get the changed texture and write it to the memory?
