Hello everyone,

I'm trying to save the current state of the board, in the game I'm attempting to make. I'm using XNA 4.0. I'm using a bunch of multi-linked lists to hold where the pieces are, current legal moves, pieces attacking, pieces defending.

I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to create a custom xml file. Everything in the game has a unique name, so I need it to write the links as names, but when it loads I need it to go through the list and create the nodes first then assign all the pointers.

I just can't seem to find a way to manually write to and read from a xml file. Can anyone help, thanks in advanced.
