Hi there!

First, read this.

The next thing you can do is to search the web.
Search for the keywords "java 2d game development". Report back when you have further questions.

Good luck!

Thanks for the information..

pjohn,
We don't like students asking homework questions here. If you are having trouble starting your school project, talk to the faculty.

Sorry sir, Okay i will study this first.
Thank you again

We can help point you in the right direction if you ask specific questions though. Remember to:
  • Do your own research first. You can also ask for help at your place of study.

  • Always tell us what you've already tried, and what isn't working.

  • What problem you're trying to solve. Break your game project down into small problems, and solve them one at a time.

To begin with, if you haven't done so already you're going to need to make sure you're at least reasonably comfortable with Java, and you're going to need to learn how to draw 2d graphics onto the screen. I would suggest that your first couple of small problems would be:
  1. Choose and set up your development tools, or if your institution has already chosen them for you then simply setting them up and making sure you can create working Java programs. If you haven't chosen tools yet your teacher should be able to offer some advice.

  2. (Assuming you've already learned some Java, otherwise write some text-based programs first to learn the basics) Figure out how to create a window and how to load and draw a single image on it.

  3. ...whatever else you need to create a simple game...

Good luck! [smile]
