To OOP or to not OOP

hi, i wanted to ask for your advice about OOP. Right now i program in the Top-Down fasion, should I switch (and learn) OOP for game programming or is it not that much of an improvement ? thanks

As far as I am concerned, OO design could be used in any kind of game. You just have to decide where in your engine it would be useful. I''m writing a sidescrolling fighting game right now, and OOP is working great for me. Also, if your engine is pretty far along, you might not want to switch it over because it''ll be a hassle.
