Rendering in pix, but nowhere else

I started a vanilla win32 project and did a super simple directx barebones setup. When I run the exe alone or through visual studio, the window stays white. If I run it in pix, I get my correct background clear color. I'm very puzzled as to why this would happen [img]http://public.gamedev.net/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif[/img]

I'm stupid and didn't call EndScene. That's what I get for doing the directx setup from memory. Curious though that it worked in PIX with no visible error. Of course the debug library would have told me.
