if you're interested in animating ocean surface and you won't compute loads and loads of math, that is included, you can use LibOcean library for you projects. Right now you can have just alpha version demo of this small library, but soon there will be available pretty large library for animating water surface in realtime on CPUs (and we're also thinking about GPU support through OpenCL).
