XNA bone rotation

i have a 3d model that i need to rotate the bones on. im trying to make a 3d fps just for personal gain but im having trouble. im probably doing it wrong but here is my code right now.models[0].model.Bones["soldier:RightArm"].Transform = Matrix.CreateRotationY(MathHelper.ToRadians(90));
im guessing theres more that needs to be done would any1 mind helping me out with that. btw im not getting an error so it realizes the bone is there but it just doesnt change the model.
