I am attempting to write a Third Person Shooter simulator in OpenGL. Just need to drive an object around an arena with joystick and keyboard commands. Also need to figure out object collision in the game (pick objects up with a "claw"). Anyone know of some good coding examples dealing with these issues? I am using MS Visual C++ to write it. Thanks.

OpenGL Game Programming by Kevin Hawkins and Dave Astle(hey, I remember thier names )

The best book in the world. It practically tells you how to make a shooter.(Maybe it even does, I havent read the whole book yet).
