QuadTree VS. Roam

Well, this isn't a VS issue. ROAM is a method of applying variable levels of detail to your terrain meshes. Quadtrees are a method for sorting terrain "chunks" recursively, most often for frustrum culling purposes. You can, and probably should, use both in tandem. In fact, there are some ROAM (by ROAM I do not mean the official ROAM algorithm but view-dependent LOD meshes for landscapes in general) that require the use of quadtrees. So there is no conflict at all.
