I did a quick search, but couldn't find any recent posts with links to free tilesets. I'm sure there are plenty out their, it's just a case of finding them.
I'm specifically using 'tiled' from http://www.mapeditor.org/ , so if anyone could recommend some isometric tile sets for use with that application I'd really appreciate it.

You can find a lot of free tilesets (and other resources) on http://opengameart.org/ .
You can also find some other (some free, some not) tilesets in RPG Maker communities, and there's tilesets with RPG Maker (the RTP, although i don't know exactly the licence).

Pretty sure the RPG Maker license forbids usage of its tilesets for any project that are not created with its respective "Maker" program.
