I'm trying to set up MSAA in DirectX 10. But I only have a single anti alias level parameter to work with.

Heres's what I was thinking:

sd.SampleDesc.Count = antiAiliasAmount;
sd.SampleDesc.Quality = 0;

But I don't know what to use for SampleDesc.Quality. What should it be? MSAA amount/2? Or should it be the same as the MSAA amount?

You can just set it to 0. The quality level is used to set select hardware-specific MSAA modes...for instance CSAA on Nvidia hardware. Using 0 will give you a standard MSAA implementation with the indicated number of subsamples.
