Errr, I was just wondering, how do you access the errors that DX8 is supposed to give you when using the debug libs (as opposed to retail)? I''ve been working in fullscreen mode so maybe that''s why I haven''t seen any? I doubt that I haven''t made an error in all my work Thanks, Shane

Im not sure about this, though I think the DX8 Debug Libs send their output to the standard Debug output by using OutputDebugString(), though u will need to download a program that captures the output, check www.download.com.

I read somewhere that the debug libs do stuff like filling in the backbuffer with garbage so u can tell when you are missing parts of the screen when drawing.

The DirectX debug messages appear as trace output when you run your program in a debugger.

Thanks, man! I didn''t realize you needed an external program.

I downloaded debugview from:
