Does anyone have any good resources that explain the fine details of coding skeletal animation? My 3D game library is starting to take shape, but I am getting bogged down with character animation. I have a working skeleton that I want to use to deform a vertex mesh, but so far I don''t have the foggiest how to go about this I am assuming that key points in the vertex mesh would be attached to the ''bones'' of the skeleton, so that when the bones move the vertex mesh is distorted, but how do you distribute the distortion amongst all the other vertices? Do you use a pre-calculated weighting for each vertex, or is there a sneakier method that? I hope this is making sense. ------------------ Trouble is my business ------------------

Thanks Sly, I''ll check this out.

I was also hoping to get an explanation of the theory behind this, maybe even a tutorial - anyone seen anything?

Cheers

Keith
