Hello, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who can satisfy my curiosity... The question isn''t so much how does it work, as to how do you achieve hardware blitting? All articals I have read that discuss'' the 13h mode state that it is a 320x200 @ 256 color display mode. But what about 1024x780 @ 24bit? How does DirectX do this? Is the video memory stored in a different location? As you can see, it isn''t a subject I am well-up on, and I am hoping someone can point out to me an artical that can instruct me! Thanks A Stack

I think this is a rather old tutorial since if refers to PCI cards as the current generation and AGP as the next generation, but it should be a good starting point for you.
