Writing a video game SDK and I would like to allow import of BSP files. I'm messing around with Dark Radiant 1.6 and I'm trying to get the latest version of XreaL compiled but in this process I noticed something. Xreal works with Doom 3 and Quake 3 BSP files. This made me wonder what is different about Quake 4 bsp files? Are they better?

A quick search found http://www.gamedev.net/topic/370383-quake-4-map-file-format/ which says quake 4 map files are almost identical to doom 3 ones.
