I'm going to be making an application as a personal project that is mainly for a writing website that I am currently at. People are going to be participating in a roleplay competition hosted by my friends, and I was thinking that to help aid the judges, I could write an application that will allow them to enter the name of a competitor's user name or character name, and have it bring up the respective character data file. I figured I would keep it simple by keeping each character linked to a text file. The application will mainly be there to allow searching for the character profiles faster. In addition, instead of opening a text file program to read it, the text will be read directly into a large data field. A character "portrait" will be an additional feature I will like to add.

I have a understanding how to go about this. Create a Windows Application program, create a data field that'll show the read-only data from the associate file, a field data for entering a character/ username, and create a box that'll display the portrait. Programming-wise, I'll end up using fstream I believe to read the files.

I just need to make sure I have this all outlined properly. Any additional tips will help. Thanks.
