I downloaded directx8 sdk but where is the setup file?

I had the same problem, but I solved it by switching to OpenGL and Linux.

Currently I decreased my average developementtime with about half, and increased performance with 4%.
Not bad.

I will never use Microsoft products anymore, just support portability to Windows.

The SDK itself is an executable. Once executed it will unzip itself into a specified temp directory. By default this is c:\mssdk\ . In that subdirectory you will find a setup.exe file. It may be under c:\mssdk\bin\ or one of the other directories. But it is there.

As for the OpenGL comment....buddy don''t waste my time.
