Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what kind of software suites you use. As an IDE i use Dev C++ because it was free and the book i got told me to use it. But i know there are ones like Visual Studio which are for pro's. Are there any others that i should be aware of?

Also, in terms of 3D modelling, design etc, are there any major software suites i should be aware of?

Thanks.

PS - The fact i'm asking this question makes me a noob, i'm aware of this but i would like to rectify that lol.

Visual Studio has a free version.

Dev C++ is very out of date and isn't even valid C++ any more. You have an old book.

If you want a free 3D modelling suite, there's a good open source one called Blender.

I'll take a look at Blender too, thanks a lot!
Yeah there's the Visual Studio Express editions, or you can even get the retail version of Visual Studio through Microsoft's Dreamspark program, provided you are a college student.
