Organizing struct functions?

In C, how do you organize/let the reader of your code know, that certain functions pertain to certain structs
for example


typedef struct linkedlist {
node* headPtr;
};


void appendNode( linkedlist *myList )
{

}

Throw them together in a .h file? Useful comments?
