King Arthur's Gold (RTS+Minecraft+castles) (Linux version!)

Hi everyone,
I just registered to show you my little game. I'd like some constructive feedback if that is possible.

King Arthur's Gold is a 2D multiplayer only castle building and war game. There are two teams. You can spawn as a builder, archer or knight. Builders dig, collect gold and build castles. The rest are fighting classes. The ultimate objective of the game is to collect more gold than the opposing team (you can also steal their gold!).

Notes:
- You can generate a terrain and play alone if you want to see how the game works. However this is a multiplayer game so I set up a server. If you are lucky there might be people in it.

- The GUI graphics are PLACEHOLDERS!
Also some tiles and animations are missing for example there are NONE of the builder animations. These should be added in the next few days.

Please post if something doesn't work and what are your impressions/suggestions.

Umm, it looks like an awesome game but... it doesn't work for me. The readme in the start menu folder doesn't actually exist, and when I click on KAG.exe I get a "The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please use the..." etc message. And I can't find the event log it refers to in that message.

The readme.txt doesn't really have anything in it. I think you didn't install the Visual Studio redistributable dll's. The setup should prompt for that after the game ends installing?

Sorry it seems the exe was compiled in debug instead of release. Please download the setup again, should work now.

Worked that time. Couldn't figure out how to become an archer or a knight though. Pressing "F to change class" only seemed to change the type of block I put down.

Ah you have to do it in the home base ofc :P Works nicely. I like how you have to make arrows out of trees :) Would like to see it in action with some more players but the times I've been the server was empty.

EDIT: awesome, love how the knight can block directionally. Reminds me of 300 when he hides under his shield :P

Other players can jump on the shield too, so they can make higher jumps. I hope some people will come and play, I've just posted this here.

Well, had the pleasure of playing this with ya for a bit, and i gotta say, its really good, really fun. I reckon this will get really popular when it gets enough exposure, and its deserves too imo. Great work!

New build #20 released today. Here is the changelog:

- smaller collision circle
- added handicap on respawn (5 arrows, 50 wood)
- fixed shield collisions (shield is much safer now)
- removed units left indicator in unlimited units gamemode
- fixed sacks dissapearing after player quit
- fixed archer & builder death frames
- fixed mouse hover nick labels
- fixed ladder building bugged sometimes
- changed suicide command to Change key + Pick up [F]+[E]

How do I move? Or am I not allowed to move around?

Edit: Nvm I figured it out. Now I wanna go slaughter some people MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Edit2: Ok I got stuck when I ran off in my maniacal rage. If the ground is too high to jump over, how do you get over it? (I'm stuck in knight form btw)
