Hello,

Basically, what i want to do is to create a surface that will face away when i press the ENTER key, somehow like those starting screens in games. So, how do we get the surface to fade? I was thinking of using a sprite (ID3DXSprite) instead and i could just adjust the color of the sprite when i draw it to the screen. (sprite->Draw(texture, NULL, NULL, NULL, D3DCOLOR_XRGB(255, 255, 255)))

Any help? Do i make use of a sprite or surface?

In your ID3DXSprite::Draw-Method, you could just modify parameter 5 (color). Either you do it like Buckeye said, modifying the alpha value of the color, or you can reduce the sprites color-components from 255 gradually to zero.
