Distributing finished games

Hi.

My small game developement "Studio" has allready churned out one semi decent 2D puzzle game and were close to finishing our next title (A 3D tower defence game). now ive never realy givin distribution alot of thought. My plan thus far was to put the games on our website and to use paypal to sell full version serial keys. But that doesnt seem very apealing anymore for a variaty of reasons.

Now im thinking about Steam but i cant seem to find any information on the submitting process. Wich is odd. Unless i just didint google very well. Im not aiming to make alot of money here but the idea of selling the games I make is pretty romantic :D even if i have to sell them for next to nothing.

So what do i need to do to get some games on steam or similar distributor. Any pointers appreciated.

EDIT: Im not 100% sure this is the right forum but I am in a sense "Breaking into the games industry" and I dont see this post fitting into any of the other forums.

I don't have any experience with publishing on Steam, but I don't think Googling is the key here. Go directly to the Steam website and see if you can find information on Publishing there. They might use a number of different terms: partners, affiliates, developers, publishing, etc.

It didn't seem hard. I went to Valve's web site, they have a business link on every page. The linked page includes a distribution section, along with contact info where you find a real human and make your pitch.

Remember that this is a business-to-business pitch for distribution of a product. Treat it accordingly. If you don't know what to expect, visit this forum's FAQ (see the top of the page).

Steam aren't in the business of romance and they certainly do want to make a lot of money. You will need to pitch your game to them and when you do you need to explain clearly why it should be on their system and why it will make them lots of money or they won't be interested.

Well yes of course i simply meant that any money I make is a bonus since making money was never intended. I understand that Valve does not share that notion :D and i have to convince them that my product is feasable.
