CG won't display texture.

I'm using cgGLSetTextureParameter to set a texture in my shader but when I try to render it all I see is black. It's very odd because if I set all of the channels to 1 except one of them, they all are black. There are no errors returned by cgGetLastErrorString. It may seem that I've not done any testing or research but that's all I have been doing for the last 2 days without any success... It's driving me crazy!
