only declare as a pointer, how?

i have several class, but i only want them to be declared as pointers. how can i do this

CModel* fred; // i want this to be ok

CModel fred; // i would like a compile error for this

Depending on how you want to actually allocate the objects to assign to the pointers, just making a private constructor or destructor may be sufficient.
