I just joined this site and I have a small knowledge of python. Other than that I know nothing else. I am now starting to use Unity any tips?

One of the scripting languages supported in Unity - Boo - is a derivative of Python, and so might be more immediately familiar to you than the other supported languages (C# and UnityScript). On the other hand, Boo is the least frequently used of the three supported languages (not to say you shouldn't use it because of that though).

If you only have a little experience with Python though, I'd just pick whichever of the three languages seems most immediately appealing and intuitive to you and go with that.
