Loading textures with DirectX 10 and Direct2D

I'm sure there's a very easy way to do this but I cannot for the life of me find any example or I'm just searching wrong. All I want to do is to be able to load a texture using the DirectX 10 interface and then pass it to Direct2D and let Direct2D use it for rendering. I'm hoping it's something as simple as using D3DX10CreateTextureFromFile() to load it and then passing it to Direct2D somehow but I can't figure it out. Can someone help me out here?
