How to obtain the maximum resolution of the user's monitor in Win32?

Recommended Posts

I would like to know how to get the maximum resolution of the user's monitor in Win32. In any operating system, there's a setting that lets the user change the display resolution. I believe those resolutions are set according to the graphics card manufacturer's driver, and should be possible enough to obtain the values from them.

Do you think it's worth trying to do research in Google for this? Or is it not possible enough for me to do this? Or I just have to use a "trial and error" method of obtaining the max resolution the user have been using?

EnumDisplaySettings (MSDN) will give you this.

Thank you!
