I'm trying to find information on how to load a .psd file.

I want to be able to use .psd as a texture format. Does anybody know how the file is structured, or have any information on it. My searching has proved useless, I keep getting articles about texturing inside Photoshop.

Thanks.

"PSD file format specification" returns official documentation.

Note that PSD is very unwieldy for production use since supporting just the basic subset of features is a huge pain, not to mention that individual parts are mostly meaningless, since you'd need to reimplement entire photoshop to get accurate rendering.

FreeImage supports .psd's -- although I'm sure just a subset of the format.
