Hello,

I don't know if I'm in the right section, but I've a question about the rendering technic used in a game.
The game is 3D Dot Game Heroes, a PS3 game: http://www.videogamesblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/3d-dot-game-heroes-town-screenshot.jpg

My first thought is that it uses voxel rendering, but I'm not very sure ...
What do you think ?

I think it is just rendering the cubes with a depth of field whilst making the blocks larger the further back you go (As you can see in the turret of the castle). Its probably using like psedu-voxels.

I don’t think you can destroy the cubes individually so I doubt if they are cubes at all. It’s probably just a normal triangle mesh with a texture applied to make it look like cubes. In other words it’s just an artistic style – nothing technically complicated at all.
