I'm trying to build a 3d game from almost scratch, so I picked up two books: Real Time Rendering, and Game Engine Architecture. I have a slight problem with a second book in that it doesn't show you examples or design ideas of what parts of an engine you need, and how they communicate with each other. For example, how a high level class with references to data would communicate with, say a texture manager. What are some of the books or articles I should be looking at to get an idea of an actual architecture? I'm decently fluent in c++, and I know things like data structures since my major is in computer science.

Edit: sorry, my title is a little misleading, it should have a question mark in it
