I want to use DX8 for 2D but there is something I don''t understand. I will be using texture mapping to blit my sprites onto the screen, this means I will have to create a vertex buffer in order to draw the textures on the screen. Since this is used for 2D only I will create vertex data for a quad. This quad will have a size of for instance x_size=2 and y_size=2. This will allow me to blit textures that fit these dimensions. But what if I need to blit a texture that is larger? Would I then have to apply a scaling matrix before I draw the texture? Or would it be better to create seperate vertex data for each texture? Thanks René Petersen

The scaling matrix might be faster/cleaner... For 2D, you''re probably going to be fill limited, so geometry processing shouldn''t matter too much...
