Need some documentation about skinned meshes

Hello :)

I would like to implement this technique in my project, but I can't find a documentation that fits to my need : either they explain it permits to animate characters (oh really ?^^) either they give tons of shaders that I can't understand.
I'm sure such documentations exist, but I search for several days without success.

Maybe someone could give my a link, something like that

EDIT : I understand skeletal animation, it's more about the skinning in itself
