Hello everyone, I am currently producing a learning series for my students and I figured I might as well share it with everyone here as well. The course focuses on teaching video game development basics to students with a rudimentary knowledge of C++. This course is for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of game development at the code level. All of the tutorials are assuming a PC with Visual Studio 2010, though the code itself is cross platform and should work on any operating system (thanks to Allegro 5). Furthermore, all of the software used is free.
Like I stated earlier, this material is for some college courses I am teaching, but I figured that I would share the wealth. All of the course materials can be found here: http://fixbyproximity.wordpress.com/2d-game-development-course/
Please note that I am still actively developing this and am constantly adding new materials. Everything on the site is free, I only ask that if you find a mistake or have a suggestion about how I can make something better to please let me know. I want these materials to be of the highest quality I can make.
Enjoy.

First I want to say thanks for sharing this. I've been going to school for game programming and about to finish my degree. Unfortunately I never really had much time to do anything outside of school when I was in the army but am out now and finding my self with a lot more time and really need to start getting my stuff together and start building up a portfolio though I wish I had more time to do so before I got out of the army.
Also, where do I get the precompiled version of Allegro 5 as only found the source code so far.
Again, thanks for sharing this.
Edit: I found the precompiled version

I think what he means you can't click full screen on the videos when viewing them from your site as I wasn't able to but when I clicked on the video when it was playing it took me to the site it is uploaded on and was able to see it full screen on there.
Hope this helped!
