I don't know where to put this topic, i find this forum as the one that it fits best.

I'm using Visual Studio 2008 (with C++ as main language) and in my project i have some namespaces and i want to access the objects inside them. When i want to type the "::" operator (double colon), i write it as ":;" and it is sometimes annoying. Is there a way to configure VS2008 so that when i type one single colon character, it will write a second colon just after it?

Something similar had Delphi, when you typed "if" and then hit space/enter it became
"if ()
begin
end;"
and the text cursor was moved between the parentheses.

I do not want to use "using namespace".

Get visual assist, this has features like this. Not sure if this exact one is in there but you can specify it if its not.

Try holding down the shift key for the length of time required to press colon twice instead of just once.

(I do sometimes wish Visual Studio had something akin to the Ctrl-J shortcut in Code::Blocks, but in this case any shortcut is going to be harder than just typing it properly.)
