Hi, everybody! For begin, sorry for my english. I'm interesting in programming for iPhones, because there are much work on oDesk. New iPhone 4 is very expansive for me, but cost of iPhone 3g is suitable for me.

Can I buy iPhone 3 in order to programming for fashionable iPhone 4?

Yes you can.

Assuming you're talking about getting a 3GS (GLES2 with programmable shaders, like the iPhone 4) rather than a 3G (GLES1 - fixed function), the main thing that you will want to keep in mind when developing games is the difference in screen resolution (iPhone 4 is 960x640 while earlier models are 480x320). The iPhone4 is obviously more powerful as well.

Yes, you should definitely get a 3GS and not a 3G

You don't really have to care about screen resolution if you don't want to, when programming for GLES.
(Not really if you program Cocoa/Obj-C either)
The aspect ratio is the same, and pixel density exactly doubled, so everything will scale nicely.

Ofcourse, you might want higher resolution textures for the iphone4 to really make use of the retina display, but its something you can slap on late in development with minimum impact.
