With all the discussions about Windows 8 going on at the BUILD conference, some details about Direct3D 11.1 have begun to emerge. In particular the developer documentation on MSDN has some interesting new information. You can start looking here, and follow the links through the various areas.

My favorite new addition: the ability to utilize unordered access views on all of the programmable pipeline stages. Many of the other features look fairly incremental, but there seems also to be some shader debugging APIs (presumably for use in some other important MS tools...).

The option of using logical operations instead of blend functions sounds like it could have some awesome uses for tile-based classification (e.g. ORing out lighting masks).
