C# serialization problem

Hello guys, so this is the situation:
I have Emitter containing a list of Particles. (Particles[]);
Emitter contains information (range) of the particles values;

I have values in Emitter what values can possibly be, and for me it doesn't matter what each individual particle contains.
How to serialize it without saving all the particles in the array?
