how much the use of managed code slows down a 3D application compared to unmanaged code?

In most cases you are going to see no practical difference at all; in some cases C++ is faster, in some C# can be faster. It all depends on the work load and, in the case of C++, how good you are with the language.

In short; chances are you have nothing to worry about

as phantom said, it realy depends on what you're doing, the GPU (and thus 3D rendering) won't be affected at all by your language or API choices. (There might be some additional overhead on the function calls required to send data to the GPU with some languages or APIs but if you write your application appropriately this will be negligable).
