Hi, I've an application that generates a skydome based on Rayleigh scattering equations. It all works fine and I'm able to export the skydome texture as a square bitmap.

I was wondering if and how I may save such color information as a HDR texture... thanks

Render to a floating point texture, read it back to the CPU in a float array, save it as a HDR. Pretty straightforward.

Use the DDS format. DevIL can write and read DDS files.
