Howdy, Y'all!

Tonight, I am doing something at http://www.ustream.t...nel/buildergeek that I am not sure has ever been done before.

I will be broadcasting live the process of going all the way from a bare install of Python and Pyglet to shoot 'em up style game. (Think Galaga, Space Invaders, etc.) It's part of a series of similar live broadcasts I will be doing on a weekly basis.

This session will be geared towards beginners, because I will start with a completely blank screen and slowly add functionality in well-explained stages. I will be pushing my commits to a bitbucket.org repository, (https://bitbucket.or...ildergeek/shmup) so you can follow the code in real time as well.

You'll need to watch my video on setting up the development environment first, - http://www.ustream.t...corded/17483974 - or just have the following things installed before you tune in:

- Python (I use 2.7.2, but any version between 2.5 and 2.7 will probably work)
- Pyglet 1.1.4
- Some version of Mercurial you're familiar with. I like TortoiseHG.
- A text editor you like working with. I use Emacs.

Broadcast begins shortly after 6:00 PM Pacific Time, and I hope to wrap it up before 9 PM. Hope to see you all there! Again, the link for the channel: http://www.ustream.t...nel/buildergeek
