Wow, you've been here since '10? Looks like we post in different forums, so we've never met. I see our names are an edit distance of just three apart.... Hopefully, there won't be too much confusion!

(And, sorry, I don't know of any existing software that does what you want, but others might. If you don't find such a program, though, I don't think you'd find it too difficult to write your own. E.g., dying grayscale pixels is just a matter of locating pixels whose R, G, and B components are all equal, and then either (1) multiplying them by given Rdye, Gdye, Bdye values, or (2) converting them to HSL, setting the H value to a given constant, and then converting back. Trimming, likewise, is obviously straightforward. The hardest part is the packing, because there are a number of heuristics for doing this efficiently. See e.g. this thread.)
