Memory Leaks can't be detected

D3DX: Set HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Direct3D\D3DXBreakOnAllocId=0x1 to debug
The program '[5312] Crowd.exe: Native' has exited with code 8 (0x8).

I've set the variable under the registry. But still no breakpoint occurs
Is the word Software case sensitive?
Could anyone shed some lights on this?
