An anti-halo usually refers to when SSAO is used, and there's a small area around characters/other geometry where the AO suddenly disappears. You can see two forms of it in that Uncharted 2 screenshot. The first is down by his feet, which is being caused by the fact that they do the SSAO pass at a lower resolution and then blur/upsample without properly respecting depth discontinuities. The second is up by his elbows, which is caused by the fact that they use some sort of depth rejection threshold (which is common with SSAO) where if a depth sample is closer to the camera by a large amount that sample is rejected and doesn't cause any occlusion.
