Free XNA Games Showcase

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the stupid post. I'm thinking of taking up C# + XNA and was trying to find a website with some hobbyist XNA games available for free and with source, like all the other libraries have (SDL, pygame). It's a great way to learn and see what the library can do. However, after much googling, I couldn't find one. The MS website is weird and unfriendly in this regard, because I don't need a market, just some very simple free stuff to see what other people are up to. And possibly to share my games in the future. Just a community. Nothing fancy. I couldn't find anything. There were some "separate" examples here and there, sure, but what about a single place for those? Are there any issues, licenses and whatnot, that prevent people from just sharing their XNA pongs, pacmans and the like?

Apologies if this is a noob question. I'm usually good at googling stuff.

Code Samples category on the XNA site:

http://create.msdn.com/en-US/education/catalog/?contenttype=4&devarea=0&platform=0&sort=1

There are some full (simple!) games in the list, along with a bunch of much smaller samples focusing on a single thing at a time.

Make sure to use the 'platform' filter for what you're interested in (Windows Phone, 360 or Windows PC). Some of the samples don't make sense on the other platforms.

Thank you! Not a community, but definitely what I was looking for, for now. It's a long way towards sharing my games, so code samples, especially MS approved one, are perfect. Thanks!
