[SDL_Mixer] Question about Mix_ChannelFinished

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to toggle a bool to tell when a channel has finished playing. I found Mix_ChannelFinished in the SDL Documentation
though I'm not sure how to work it. I've only been able to get it to work with a function with one int parameter. Does this mean it can only affect global variables?
How would I use it in a class method?
