I am getting a linker error using dx9 and c++
[font="Consolas"][size="1"][font="Consolas"][size="1"]>rotate.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _D3DXMatrixPerspectiveFovLH@20 referenced in function "void __cdecl render_frame(void)" (?render_frame@@YAXXZ)

1>rotate.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _D3DXMatrixLookAtLH@16 referenced in function "void __cdecl render_frame(void)" (?render_frame@@YAXXZ)

1>rotate.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _D3DXMatrixRotationY@8 referenced in function "void __cdecl render_frame(void)" (?render_frame@@YAXXZ)

1>c:\users\phil\documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\rotate\Debug\rotate.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 3 unresolved externals

I have linked in all the proper files but somehow I am missing something.

It is looking for three D3DXMatrix functions.

You said you linked in all the proper files, but obviously your linker disagrees.

Are you SURE you linked against the correct D3D library? These are found in d3dx9.lib That should be on your list of libraries inside your project settings.

Check the linker command line (again in the project settings) and verify that the library is in the list.
