Sending Message wont work as i expect

I cant cast spells in that way, I can only write chatbox messages, but this isnt only in League of Legends...
In other game i couldnt open inventory in that way, but I still could operate with gamechat

Whats wrong? Is it possible that there is other thread in process where i should send keys?
