Hi there!
I am a student of Informatics Engineering and I want to start developing games in C + +. Thus I come here asking for suggestions for simple games.
Thank you!
Developing Games
Are you looking for project suggestions or development suggestions? Assuming you've already run through a handful of console apps why not start with Pong

You're looking for game ideas, not technical help - so I'm moving this to Game Design.
Think about what types of games you like and how that might fit into a simple 2D game. As a kid, I loved Gauntlet but enjoyed futuristic games more than sword & sorcery. So, one of my earlier games was a top-down futuristic shooter but allowed you to use different characters pitted against monster generators, similar to Gauntlet. Keep in mind that even a simple game can be challenging so you really want to stick to something that you'll actually enjoy yourself.
I'd go with Serapth's suggestion and start with Pong. Since you're starting, just the satisfaction of creating something and finishing it should spark you to try harder things once you learn how to deal with different problems that will come with creating Pong.

I agree. Pong was the first game I ever made in Java, and it helped me a lot.
Pong, Space Invaders, and Pac Man are all simple game concepts that can really show the amount of work that goes into making a game. All these examples have very minimal art and the design is mostly done for you, so you can focus on process and development. Each game will introduce you to new elements, such as Artificial Intelligence in Pac Man or multiple pong-ball-bullets in Space Invaders. All good for experience!
