OpenGL What is the diference between the different glcolors

I'm learning openGL (using sdl implementation)
And recently I have seen these glColors appear when I type glColor in codeblocks
I've expermented with them and I got differnet colors
I'm wondering what's the difference between these glColors

Some of them take floating point format = 0.0 to 1.0
Some take unsigned byte = 0 to 255
Some take unsigned integer = 0 to whatever
Some take byte
Some take double

That's how GL was designed back in 1992.
All the other functions have all sort of format support as well.
