Hello,

My game server is written in C++ and allows users to upload pictures. I need to create high quality jpeg thumbnails.
I have heard about imagemagic. Is that still the best image library for linux?

I found DevIL (http://openil.sourceforge.net ) quite good to use for simple image manipulation. I have never coded against ImageMagick, but I often use the command-line tools for image-related (shell-) scripting.

There's also CImg and FreeImage ... I've never used FreeImage under Linux, however. I have used CImg under Linux; it's *very* simple to use so if Cimg does what you need I'd probably just go with that.
EDIT: actually it looks like CImg has to be used in conjunction with ImageMagick to handle jpegs ... so never mind.
